With our material compounds, we not only combine different materials in one component but also the properties of those materials with each other. Since a perfect union between the elements is important here, the joining processes have to be precisely coordinated with each other.
We specialise in back-casting tungsten alloys with copper, creating a seamless bond between the two materials. This is important wherever high electrical conductivity and high temperature resistance are required. Cathode and anode materials for plasma applications are a (good) example; our back-cast resistance welding electrodes also feature better reproducibility of their properties than soldered versions with pores. This increases the service life and improves the reproducibility of components.
